Food Review: Hifumi Japanese Restaurant at Plaza Singapura

Hui Ting, Sandra and I went to Hifumi Japanese Restaurant for a Summer catch-up session. We took a risk despite reading reviews about its disappointing main dishes and appetiser bar. The appetiser bar is free flow and drinks are free flow at SGD1.90. Sadly, the truth remains that the food is bad. Our mains were too salty and looks so bland that I didn't even bother taking pictures of them. The appetiser bar were mainly cold dishes. The cha soba is not served with its typical soy sauce but soy milk miso. It tasted damn weird! The soba was too soggy also. The chawamushi is alright. However, it doesn't make sense to spend over $10 for just chawanmushi right.

I would NOT recommend this place to people who are looking for new lunch/dinner spots.

Declutter Your Life

I have no statistics to back the assertion up but I feel that guys save more than girls. Girls, on the other hand, buy too much. Or perhaps you're the type of girl who doesn't spend a lot but don't see the need to dress yourself up (or maybe you are just naturally pretty). Girls who bother with self-presentation and yet succeed in keeping their materialism under check are far few and in between.

I'm trying to de-clutter my life now. Streamline my wardrobe and make-up products.
Selling away what I no longer use. Putting money into better use.

To declutter your makeup, restrict yourself to only a few items that you really like. Sell away the rest. If you are from Singapore, I recommend sg_beauty (Livejournal community). Sell your clothes on Agnes&Maurice, sgselltrade and sgflea.

I wish someone taught me this when I was earning (a lot compared to most other post A level students) 1 year ago. At least it is not too late. It's better that I learn that I don't need so much now than only when I step out into the working world.

There is also really no need to be hooked into social media and be constantly available. My Bermuda Triangle of Procrastination: Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp. There is no need to incessantly conduct email checking. Guilty for my Gmail. You know it in theory but it is so hard in practice.

Completed The Monk who Sold His Ferrari. I recommend this book!

FANCL REVIEW - Final Thoughts on FANCL

Final opinions on the following Fancl haul in June.
- Fancl Sunguard: Won't repurchase. Biore is better and cheaper.
- Fancl Acne Essence: Won't repurchase. Useless.
- Fancl Perfect Slim Alpha tablets: Worth a try. Intending to repurchase soon as I think I'm going to eat a lot in my overseas trips.

Skin Condition Update + Review: Maple Clinic

I have been too busy with school to go back to Maple Clinic. An update on my skincare, I've managed to clear the bulk of my acne and all I'm left with is acne scar on the right face profile. They'll fade after 6-12 months? I'm using BB creams to conceal them for the time being.

However, Maple Clinic is not the place where I cleared my skin. I visited another dermatologist. He's awesome :) I've stopped using Maple Clinic's NIKS product for about 5 months already. Here's my take on their products in retrospect (purely based on memory):
